Shine Workplace Wellbeing (SWW) is looking to appoint a partner / director to help shape the business and drive our growth plans as we strive to make our clients’ employees healthier and happier.

This unique role has come about as SWW’s founder Matthew Carlton appreciates the need for a senior figure to join the company and share some of the responsibilities around growing a thriving, passionate, and agile start-up business. This is a chance for the successful applicant to ultimately own part of a business, in a director role, and have a huge impact on its direction, success and growth.

These are exciting times for SWW, having recently agreed partnerships with two major business communities and commencing work with a creative agency to deliver its first concerted B2B marketing campaign, prior to a brand relaunch.

 

Requirements

Experience of employee/workplace wellbeing would be advantageous, either from a professional or academic background, but is not essential.

Likewise it may suit someone with experience in any of the following fields: HR, Organisational Psychology, Occupational Health, Mental Health, Employee Engagement, Fitness / Physical Health.

Interest and passion for some of the above areas would be advantageous. That said, we are open to applications from people outside these areas who have relevant skills, experience and creativity that could suitably complement our plans and provide a fresh perspective.

Elements will be based on relevant experience/skills, but could include:

  • Managing client and partner relationships
  • Sourcing opportunities including expansion to other UK cities
  • Developing our services and offering
  • Presenting at industry events
  • Running training webinars and delivering taster sessions
  • Recruitment
  • Supporting other business elements as and when required (eg marketing, financial planning, forecasting)

 

Further info

The role – both during an initial trial period and after – does not need to be full time, though at least three days a week would be expected. Obviously the more time committed, the higher the equity ultimately offered.

The permanent role would be as a company director and not as an employee. Exact job title to be discussed. We’re flexible around WFH, childcare commitments, and generally ensuring a healthy work-life balance.

The role will require in-person meetings with Matthew and other members of the SWW team, particularly during the trial period, when they would probably be weekly. Such meetings are likely to take place in the SW London area. While applicants would not have to live in this area, they would have to be prepared to travel to/from that area for meetings during this trial period.

As the role evolves and as working life resumes some normality (and when it is safe to do so), some in-person meetings with clients and prospects are likely to be required. These are currently predominantly in the London area, but may be further afield (though likely to be infrequent).

Finally, none of the above is set is stone and following discussions, any agreement can be discussed and adapted to suit both parties.

Start date: August 2020. Though this can be later for the right candidate.

Salary, equity offer, package, expectations etc will all be discussed verbally.
